Number Five: Recipe

So we are doing the pumpkin brownie crate things? Hmm....what to call them? Any way I was stilling at work and it dawned on me, they are pumpkin right? So why should they be chocolate flavor?

On Saturday I'm gonna go to the store and try out this idea, I'm gonna make pumpkin brownies. Yes, pumpkin FLAVORED BROWNIES.

And here is the recipe I'm gonna use:

1 2/3 c. sugar
1 c. oil
4 eggs
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Cream together sugar and oil. Add remaining ingredients (except frosting) and mix. Pour into greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

This is the first project I'm going to do for the wedding. So, hope it turns out good. Wether they taste good or not I know Mr. G will eat them hahaha.

Number Four: Favors

So, its been awhile. Actually I didn't have internet on my computer here at work, yes I do all my wedding planning at work. Don't know if I mentioned that already. Anyway, I just wanted to share with you guys the favors we are planning on having for the wedding. You can purchase them online but I figured it would be even better just to make them, and it would be a fun night with the girls putting these together. They are Pumpkin Brownies. Your typical chocolate brownie dipped in orange chocolate and dressed up with brown and green chocolate to make it look like a pumpkin. What a great idea right? Then I was thinking we can make crates out of either popsicle sticks or even small craft logs and then write or carve our names and the date into them. Giving them a personal touch. What do you guys think?

Number Three: DIY

Doesn't take long for me to get bored at work, but I thought I would put down a few ideas on DIY projects I need to get started on.

The major thing I need to get started on is samples of invitations. I know its early but I need to figure out what we love. Also I need to see how fabric, yes fabric envelopes would work. I just love the idea of it. But I need to find out if I can send these via snail-mail, and a better way to fasten them. But other then that I just love, love, love them. I'm swooning over them right now as I'm typing this out. That's how much I love them!!

Number Two: The Perfect Number

Let me give an introduction as to who we are, we will remain anonymous through out this blog so from here on out my future husband-to-be shall be known as Mr. G and until after the wedding I will be known as Miss L.

We've discussed what is the perfect number for our wedding? We both wanted a small wedding, but how small did that truly mean? So we decided close family and friends only. Which we figured to be about 20 for my side and roughly 15 for his. Sounds good to us, but is there a place out there that can hold 30 some people and not cost thousands of dollars? Its hard to find something outside for a cheap price, and the place I feel in love called the Noriega House with is about $3,100. So, we might end up either having it in my back yard which needs major work or I can swallow my pride invite two more people and go ask the Aunt in which I hate, yes HATE, and ask if we can have it in their yard.

But who knows maybe with in the next month I can find some place small enough and cheap enough to have it at.

If anyone has any places in Kern County, Ca please feel free to share, I would really appreciate it.

Number One: Where to start?

Hello Everyone,
The reason I started a blog was:
  1. I can never remember where I find all the good stuff online.
  2. To keep track of my budget and what is done and what is.
  3. To give you guys the in sight on how I plan to make my wedding happen with only $6,000.
  4. And how the heck we are gonna pay for it all.
You see my parents are renewing their vows the same year my future hubby-to-be and I plan to do ours. While his dad lives out of state and his mom lives here half of the year. So our whole wedding will be paid for by us. $3,000 saved up by each of us. Its tough, but it will happen.Hopefully our $6,000 budget will over everything from the place, to the food, drinks, dress, tux, and decorations. I'm keeping the rings out of it, personal views but that would cut from something else.

Before we get started on any details or any ideas so far I want to share a story with you as to how this all came to be. Brace yourself its gonna be a long one!!

It all starts off in October, (the month we plan to marry in; you'll see October plays a significant part in our relationship) I just became manager at this pizza parlor, my mom and I both happened to work at, I came in one day and she told me there was a new guy starting and I had to train him. So I put on my "I mean business" face and got to work. He didn't start till 5 so I had some time to get the others going before I left them alone while I showed this new guy around.

Seeing that the workers were mainly girls, no work got done. We would just stand around and "shoot the bull" till either the phone rang or a customer came in. So we are standing there in the kitchen when this handsome guy walks by the window, believe me when I say handsome. All us girls stopped what we were doing and stared. Lucky for me this handsome guy happened to be the new guy, and even luckier for me I got to spend about an 1 hour (yeah I made the "this is what you need to know" speech longer) alone with him. SCORE!!

Well, the whole time we worked together he was very quiet and didn't say much, while I, on the other hand was bossy and mean. Lets just say I scared the poor guy, which sucked cause I had the HUGEST crush on him. Anyway, I guess my meanness got the best of me cause I ran him off. Yeah, he quit on me. As I watched him walk out the door with his middle finger held high, a little part of me hurt, because I knew that was the last time I would ever see him.

Flash forward 2 years...

I went in to help my mom one day when they were really busy, (I no longer worked there but I still went in to help) and one of my old co-workers told me that that new guy I ran off, was asking about me, about how I was doing. I thought this was a little strange, why would a guy who hated me so much ask how I was doing? Lucky for me I didn't delete his number from my phone and I decided to text him, hoping the number was still active, and see if this was true. After a few minutes of texting we decided to met up that night and catch up. There was really no were for us to go so I told him no one was at my Grandma's and we could chill out side her house. So, off we go.

(keep in mind this took place in October) Under her tree in the front yard there happened to be two chairs so we took a seat. We started to talk and slowly we got closer, and closer, closer...

There we sat under this tree in front of my Grandma's house kissing. I felt butterflies, this kiss was like no other. I felt like the world had stopped and it was only me and him. After a few moments he admitted to me he had a crush on me the whole time at Tony's. Then a few days later he asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course I said yes!

Flash forward 10 days...

He had texted me that he wanted to talk. So I showed up and he told me that he wanted to break up that he was moving and couldn't do a long distance relationship. So that was it. We were over and I was crushed....

Flash forward 7 months...

He texted me wanted to hang out, so I agreed. We went to our spot (not the tree, somewhere else) and just started talking again. A few minutes later I was in his arms and our lips were together. A couple days later he told me he wanted to get back together. And of course I said yes. I knew for sure I had loved this man.

Flash forward 3 months...

It was my 21st Birthday and I had gotten out of work early because he had something planned for me. Well, one of my friend's had called me and I told her maybe we can go to lunch, and I'll tell him you guys wanna spend lunch with me. He actually got upset because he had the whole day planned out. So I called my friend back and actually lied to her and told her my mom wanted me to run errands for her. That way she wouldn't get mad that I was choosing my boyfriend over her.

So he met me at my parent's house so I could get ready to go out. When he arrived he had brought me 3 white roses, and a hand-made card. Not only was it my birthday but our anniversary was the next day and I was gonna be out of town with my mom so he decided to give me my gift early (which was the flowers will get to my birthday gift later). So here we are sitting on the couch in the living room watching old episodes of the Twilight Zone, my favorite show, he tells me he wants to give me my birthday present. He stood up and reaches into his pocket and I can hear a wrapper crinkling. I get excited and say, "I know what it is!" He looks at me and asks, "What?" "You got me gummy sharks!" Well, he started laughing at me and shook his head no. Next thing I know he is down on his knee and a smile crosses my face. Was the wrapper to throw me off? He has his hand behind his back, I'm curious to what is there. He looks at me and asks "Will you marry me?" and pulls a Ring Pop out from behind his back. I start laughing and tell him "YES!" He seats back down on the couch next to me and tells me it isn't final till you eat it. So, we sat on the couch watching my all time favorite episode and sharing the Ring Pop. After its gone I asked him, "Were you serious?" and he just chuckled. So I asked him, "Are you hungry?" We ordered up a pizza from where my mom works and went down to go get it.

After we picked up the pizza we sat in the parking lot and got into a huge fight about something entirely stupid! I stormed off to go talk to my mom inside while he drove off. A few minutes later he texted me and asked if he could pick me up and talk about what happen. I told him sure, and ten minutes later I was back in his car. After a good talk we settled our issues and went up town to run that "errand" for mom. After we were done he told me he had an errand he needed to do and asked if it was okay if he could do it before we took off to dinner. I told him sure no problem and off we went again. Well, he kept driving past all the businesses in town and I started to think. What errand is this? We start pulling up to these mobile homes and he asks, "Do you know where we are going?" and I tell him, "Yes, we are going to Grandma's. But why?" You have to understand every Tuesday we go and have lunch at Grandma's to spend time with her and check up on her since my Grandpa had passed. He decided since we missed that Tuesday we could go see her today. We pull up to her house and she's waiting, like always, at the door. We walk in and give her a hug, then she sings happy birthday to me, it really hit me cause I missed Grandpa singing along with her. After the song and me taking off my shoes he tells my Grandma he needs to speak with me outside. I start thinking great he didn't finish telling me what was wrong and he brought me to Grandma's to continue the fight. So I put my shoes back on and head out to her patio. I start to uncover one of the chairs when he grabs my hand and tells me, "No, over here." He drags me into her yard. The only thing I can think of is he doesn't want Grandma to hear.

So he takes me over to the only tree she has. This tree actually has special meaning to us. Its the first place we talked since last seeing each other, its the first place we held hands, and its the first place we kissed. We stood under this tree and I didn't understand why he wanted to continue a solved fight under "our" tree. Little did I know, this tree was about to become even more special. He looked at me and cupped my face in his hands and lightly kiss me. He grabbed my hands and hold me, "Under this tree was when I knew I had fallen in love with you and wanted to spend the rest of my life with you." He got down on one knee and took a little black box out of his pocket. I was so shocked I felt like I had no idea what was going on. He took the ring from the box and took my hand, and one more time asked me, "Will you marry me?" A huge smile crossed my face and all I could do was nod my head 'yes'. I was so surprised, so shocked I couldn't talk. He placed the ring on my finger and stood up to kiss me. After a few minutes of kissing and looking at the new shinny addition to my finger we walked inside to tell my Grandma the good news. Next we took of to the pizza parlor to tell mom. It honestly didn't hit me that he proposed to me till we left the pizza parlor got back in his car and took off to tell his mom. I sat there in the front sit looking at my ring will tears rolled down my face. I looked over at my fiance and smiled and told him, "I love you so much." He returned the smile and responded, "I love you too my fiance."

And here we are now, planning a wedding. I'm sure you probably guessed it by now but the wedding will take place in October. So hop on for a ride cause I basically do all the wedding stuff at my job, I work as a clerk and I'm stuck behind a desk so this well be updated often. So, this will be updated often.
